When life happens, it happens FAST. All of the goals I mentioned in January are in progress. The Modern Daybreak album is well on its way. As of now, we have at least the foundation for 10 songs out of the planned 13. The rough mixes are sounding really nice already without sending them off to a mixing engineer, which gives me hope that the album will sound nice and polished.
We are also pretty well set for my dream DIY concert: the Crawlspace show. I’ve told a few close friends about my vision: an intimate acoustic performance down in a Crawlspace featuring all new, unreleased songs from our album. After months of planning, it’s looking like this event will be unforgettable for a handful of our closest fans.
In terms of more life happening, I am in the middle of buying a condo as a first time home buyer. The process has been smooth so far, but it’s stressful nonetheless. Major life change for sure.
Gi and I have been lucky to be connected to a good team to help us through each step, but it’s hard for me to fully relax until the keys are in my hand. I imagine everything that can go wrong, and yet I try to keep calm when talking about it with friends and family. I just have to trust that this is the right time to be making this decision.
Our music has not been put on hold quite yet. Our weekly Modern Daybreak sessions have been keeping my spirits high, refreshing my week with every note played. I am blessed to be working with such good and talented people on this album. There is a sense of excitement and commitment to the art that only grows with each passing week.
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for me and the band. Thank you for reading and supporting us!
